handed out last week.
What’s Working and Not
Working?: Continued the discussion on what is working and not
working in the church in relation to communications. Jerry Niebaum made the
statement that there is no mindset for communication in the church, and we
began a discussion to expand on that point.
-Coordination
-What is going on
-Silos of activity
-Convincing people that
communications is vital
-Two-way communications
-Raising overall awareness
of the activities of the church
-Especially
important for visitors and new members
Goals: for a church with 2 campuses and a good
communications structure.
-Both campuses are aware of
what is happening at each facility
-Master calendar
-Ease of use and understanding
-Coordination of events
-Coordination of
marketing/communications
-Increased use of the
website and email (all electronic communications)
-Seamless interaction
between both campuses
-Well-informed congregation
-Effective outreach
-Marketing to the community
For next week: Think about
the goals and ask yourself “What does a church that communicates well feel
like, look like, and experience like, especially from the viewpoint of a new
member/visitor?”
Next Meeting: Tuesday, May 23rd, 7:30pm. Room TBA.
